DADA ENEN THTH

Traditional Thai Massage in Roskilde

Authentic Thai massage performed by Wat Po trained therapists in the heart of Musicon

What is Thai massage?

Thai massage is a treatment method over 2,500 years old that combines acupressure, stretching exercises and meditation. The massage is originally performed on a mattress on the floor, where you wear loose clothing.

Massage Musicon has placed the 1 meter wide mattress on a table.

Unlike Western massage, Thai massage doesn't use oil, but instead works with pressure, stretching and manipulation of the body's meridian lines (energy lines). The treatment involves the whole body and can be described as "passive yoga", where the therapist helps you through different positions.

What makes Thai massage special?

Thai massage differs from other massage forms in several ways:

  • Full body treatment: Works with the whole body from head to toe
  • Meridian lines: Stimulates energy lines for better flow
  • Stretching exercises: Increases flexibility and mobility
  • Deep pressure: Uses weight and body position for effective pressure
  • Reflex zones: Works with foot and hand reflexes
  • Without oil: Performed through clothing for full mobility

Benefits of Thai massage

Regular Thai massage can give you:

  • Increased flexibility and mobility
  • Better blood circulation
  • Reduced muscle tension
  • Improved energy level
  • Relief from back and neck pain
  • Better posture
  • Deep relaxation and stress reduction
  • Strengthened immune system
  • Better sleep quality

Frequently asked questions about Thai massage

Does Thai massage hurt?

Thai massage can be intense, especially if you choose hard massage. But we always adjust the pressure to your comfort zone. Feel free to communicate during the session if something is too intense or too mild. Mild soreness the next day is normal with deeper treatments.

Do I need to be flexible to get Thai massage?

No, you don't need to be flexible beforehand. The therapist adapts the stretching exercises to your current flexibility, and many actually experience increased flexibility after regular Thai massage.

What is the difference between Thai massage and regular massage?

Thai massage is performed on a mattress on the floor through clothing and includes stretching exercises and acupressure along meridian lines. Regular Western massage is typically performed on a table with oil and focuses primarily on muscle manipulation.

How often should I get Thai massage?

For maintenance and relaxation, 1-2 times per month is recommended. If you have specific problems, weekly treatments for a period can be beneficial. We are happy to advise you individually.

Can I get Thai massage if I'm pregnant?

We offer specialized massage for pregnant women with modified techniques that are safe during pregnancy. Feel free to contact us to hear more about the possibilities.

What are meridian lines?

Meridian lines (or Sen lines) are energy channels in the body according to traditional Thai medicine. By stimulating these lines with pressure and stretching, the energy flow and the body's natural healing are promoted.
